MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS
Marina Diamandis (better known by her stage name, Marina and the Diamonds) is probably a fairly new name to you. I really haven’t seen enough of her style yet, but what I have seen so far I absolutely adore. Her fashion choices burst with colour and are extremely quirky to say the least.
Marina’s music is just as amazing, so please do check out the video of Hollywood below if you haven’t heard it before. The lyrics can really be interpreted to relate to the negative impact that celebrities can have upon us.

What do you think of Marina and the Diamonds?

OLIVIA PALERMO IN MISSONI
She’s possibly The City’s biggest bitch, but it’s almost impossible to not envy her wardrobe collection. Looking as gorgeous as ever, Olivia was pictured last night at the annual TriBeCa Ball in New York City, wearing Missoni. It’s definitely a dress that you’ll either completely love or hate, so get voting in the poll and let me know your opinion on it! Expect plenty more coverage of Olivia Palermo’s style over the next few weeks as the premiere to season 2 of The City approaches (27th April).

GWYNETH PALTROW IN THIS MONTH’S VOGUE

I’m a HUGE Gwyneth fan and adore the fact she’s on the cover of this May’s 2010 edition of UK Vogue, shot by the wonderful Mario Testino. This is the forth cover that Gwyneth has appeared on since 1998. It’s really refreshing to see the way she’s matured from pure LA glamour into an amazing mother/role model over these last 12 years. Vogue have really managed to capture both the confident and vulnerable different sides of Gwyneth through the May 2010, December 2005, December 2002 and February 1998. Which is your favourite?

SIDE PLAITS
Rapunzel-style side plaits are extremely hot this season! Gone are the days of the plaited fringe.

Alexander Wang was first to sport the look in his SS10 shows and since then so many celebrities have taken note including Fearne Cotton, Mary-Kate Olsen and Cheryl Cole. It’s as simple as literally grabbing all your hair and plaiting it to one side of your head. Take note: these plaits are supposed to be kooky and messy, so leave random strands of your hair out and even backcomb! Don’t feel you have to perfect the plait. It needs to look effortless. It’s a look that does tend to work better with extensions (or if you’re lucky enough to have really long hair) unfortunately, but experiment with your hair and see what you can do.

FLORAL DRESS AND DENIM JACKET
Evening my lovelies! Just a very quick post as I’ve had a very long (but gorgeous) day. Had a little drinking/catching-up session with a few of best friends tonight which involved tricking someone into eating cat biscuits (don’t ask!) as well as convincing someone to shake a bottle of champagne for over 5 minutes so that it exploded EVERYWHERE! Anyway, enough of that, and on to what I wore.

As you can see, I’m wearing a bubble-hem floral dress from SS09 Topshop, a H&M denim jacket, Miss Guided heart tights and Primark shoe boots (these badboys were just £17- bargain!). I tried to keep jewellery to a minimum with this outfit, as I was slightly conscious about overdressing the clashing prints.

I can’t believe I’d only worn this dress once beforehand. Am so determined to get as much wear out of it as possible over the next few months as Summer (hopefully) approaches us. I just ADORE girly/bright prints at the moment! You can’t go wrong with a denim jacket either. They’re just incredibly useful and impossible to live without.
Anyway, I’m off to catch some much-needed zzz!! Hope you’ve all had a fabulous Monday. Please do let me know what you think of what I’m wearing. Goodnight guys.
